This is the first pavement layer where by we are using cement to stabilise subbase. It is termed C1 layer, having a minimum of 1MPa crushing strength (UCS) after 7 days of curing
Here some problems has cropped it. Segregation, as can be seen larger gravel particles were pushed to the outer edge of the paver while finer particles have remained at the centre.
On this segregation, it has been seen (not confirmed) that gravels at the inner side of paver were being pushed forward (the one see protruding outside) while the inner are being mixed.
Solution has not yet being found, we are monitoring closely.

Concrete is being poured in the pile hole. As can be seen water is pushed out by the weight of the concrete. Concrete is poured through pipe which was inserted to above 0.5m from the bottom of the hole.
Initial concrete poured was about 4cub.m so as to push water out of pipe and prevent more water from entering.
