Information or Disinformation

Today when watching parliament meeting I was shocked to hear one member claiming to know who were behind abduction and torture committed against Dr. Steven Ulimboka. This member of parliament who happen to hold one government post, says that even them then can say anything so opposition should keep silent.

Problem here was not saying anything rather saying the truth. Wishful thinking wont take us anywhere only to be haunted by reality and truth in all of our life.

I tend to think it is better to remain silent that speak lies hoping to hide the truth and reality. These things are like monsters, they can never be hidden by our words only our acceptance, acknowledging and humble will give us relief.

Two things I ask you yes, three things, don't deny me these before I die (Proverbs 30:7-9)

Tamko fupi la John Mnyika (Mb)

Nitatoa tamko la kina baadae kuhusu kilichotokea lakini kwa ufupi ubovu wa bajeti hii ni matokeo ya udhaifu wa Rais Kikwete, yeye ndiye aliyesaini Mpango wa Taifa wa miaka mitano kama Kiongozi Mkuu wa Nchi tena kwa wino mwekundu kama Amiri Jeshi Mkuu.

Na yeye ndiye Mwenyekiti wa baraza la mawaziri, bajeti hii iliyoacha kuzingatia mpango wa Taifa imepita kwenye baraza alilloliongoza, pia kushindwa kutekelezwa kwa bajeti iliyopita ni matokeo pia ya udhaifu wa taasisi ya Urais.

Pia kwa mujibu wa Katiba Rais ndiye ambaye anapeleka bajeti bungeni, Waziri mwenye dhamana anapeleka tu kwa niaba.

Rais amepewa mamlaka makubwa juu ya bajeti ibara ya 99 imeweka mipaka kuhusu mambo ambayo bunge lina mamlaka nayo huku ibara ya 90 inasema bunge likikataa bajeti rais ana mamlaka ya kuvunja bunge.

Hivyo Rais Kikwete anapaswa kuagiza Waziri wa Fedha bajeti iondolewe irudi kwenye baraza la mawaziri ikafanyiwe marekebisho!

3D picture vs Normal picture

Recently I come across a 3D photo camera, I have to admit it took some time to know how to capture an image. Every time I was greeted with an error until recently when all hopes were dashed. I was sitting alone admiring my garden when some how I managed to take a snap.
 
Here is a normal picture taken in a certain camp with 3D picture on the same location.

 and here under is the 3D picture at the same location. This image covers from sand stockpile on the far left to parking vehicle in far right.

To understand better in this picture the car was parked facing the building seen in front at the normal picture i.e parallel to the flowers

as can been seen 3D photo covers wider angle than a normal eye can see. To get the same angle in normal photo you need to stand far from target object which can sometimes give undesired view.

3D photo is best viewed in 3D TV, as it rotates like a movie.

Stabilisation of pavement layer

This is the first pavement layer where by we are using cement to stabilise subbase. It is termed C1 layer, having a minimum of 1MPa crushing strength (UCS) after 7 days of curing

Here some problems has cropped it. Segregation, as can be seen larger gravel particles were pushed to the outer edge of the paver while finer particles have remained at the centre.

On this segregation, it has been seen (not confirmed) that gravels at the inner side of paver were being pushed forward (the one see protruding outside) while the inner are being mixed.

Solution has not yet being found, we are monitoring closely.

Steel reinforcement cage being inserted in a 18m bored hole as a trial pile

Concrete is being poured in the pile hole. As can be seen water is pushed out by the weight of the concrete. Concrete is poured through pipe which was inserted to above 0.5m from the bottom of the hole.
Initial concrete poured was about 4cub.m so as to push water out of pipe and prevent more water from entering.
